6 Tips & Tricks To Hosting Ladies Night

Cheers to the weekend with a fun girls night-in! Gather your girlfriends for some quality time to chit - chat and unwind after a long week. Here are some easy steps to take when preparing your entertaining evening.

1. Pick a decorative theme for the gathering. We all love a good theme, no? Go with awesome ideas such as; Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Little Black Dress, The Great Gatsby, pajama party, dress like a pop star, relive your favorite decade (my fav is the 80's), mellow yellow yoga/meditation zen, and the list goes on.

2. Inspire each other through icebreakers and activities. When your gals arrive hand them personalized greeting cards with a word or a phrase that is empowering and matches their personality. Once everyone receives their card use it to do a reflection activity. If your squad is made up of goal-getters make vision boards or create colorful monthly intention lists to get them focused and reenergized to live out their purpose. This allows for positive energy to flow throughout the night and will also evoke supportive conversations amongst each other.

3. Bring out some games to play. My personal favorite is Cards Against Humanities or the famous digital game Heads Up. You can always bring out the board games because the classics, Monopoly, Uno, and Jenga, never get old.

4. Make sure that the music playlist is poppin'. Think about the vibe you want to create for the night. To set the mood you can go with indie pop, music from your college days, diva tracks (play that Beyonce, Mariah, Whitney, JLo, Sade, Diana Ross, Cher...etc) or rock out to some oldy but goody songs.

5. Take your gathering to the next level and serve a signature cocktail. If you have a theme, my suggestion is that the beverages go along with your concept. My personal preference is making drinks with seasonal fruits, botanicals, herbs or spices. It makes the glass look pretty as well as the fruits and herbs can be used as a garnish. Making the cocktails can be interactive if you involve your guest in the mixology experience. My girlfriends love to learn new recipes for mixed drinks and I try to always incorporate a quick how-to during our hang outs.

6. Last but not least, food. Lay out a spread of snacks you know your girls enjoy. You want to make your guests feel welcomed so be mindful of any allergies or dietary restrictions they may have. Never expect anyone to bring anything unless it's a potluck event. Always plan to have more treats to avoid running out of goodies before the party is over.

Most importantly, don't forget to have FUN!
